Tim Williams has many years playing music at many different levels. He started at the early age of 10 when he first picked up the trumpet, then continued to study and play it for about
5 years.
At age 15, Tim switched from trumpet to guitar so that he could sing along also. It was also the cool thing at the time.
Tim's band, called "Timmy and the Emeralds", won the New Haven, CT Battle of the Bands in 1966. The band also backed up well known artists at that time, including The Chifons, Gary US Bonds, The
Ojays and others when they came to New Haven.
In the early seventies Tim moved to San Francisco and played small clubs as a solo artist. He started developing his songwriting skills - something he had done a little in Connecticut.
Over the years playing different styles of music his songwriting showed itself with those different styles.
In the mid-seventies, Tim moved to LA (Venice Beach to be exact). He worked with publishers and developed more songwriting skills, having some success with music training videos on
songwriting.
He was also playing in a group called The Horizon Street Band and played clubs in the LA Area.
In the early eighties, Tim moved back to Northern California to Sonoma County and continued to play and write. He started a band called Timbre which played throughout Sonoma County.
Now, after a period of time of staying home to work on arranging and reording, Tim has set out to put his life's songwriting work on disc for all to enjoy. He also is starting to play at local
venues and finding it a lot of fun.
